Awakening into Dreams: Part II of the Fabula Fereganae Cycle by Will Davidson

Interlude: Star Above

Up high I sit, and yet Beyond.

Mostly I sleep, but every once in a while They stir. Then I wake up.

I have lost count of how many times.

I like to look at the ferrets. They’re fun to watch. So are the Furosans. And the Otsukuné are shiny and pretty. Or they were.

But the humans frighten me. They are not fun. Nor are they shiny.

Things are changing. The last two have fallen asleep. The Bridge fades.

Now once more I’ve woken up. But I know this will be the last time. It is a shame. I like this last one. She reminds me of myself. In her there is hope. In Feregana and Crepusculum there is none.

I do not want to watch anymore.
