  I Forgive You Everything

  Zeev Kachel, 1987

  I forgive you everything—

      Your nearly honest acting,

Your pretense, the imitation of faithfulness

Abuse of trust, exposing me to laughter

The loneliness, into which you thrust me,

  The whispers all around

The weeping, deep inside me, the weeping with no sound.

       Just tell me why

  Did I deserve it.

Now all is known. It’s finally in the open.

  Your timing is good,

        Your planning—perfect!

I forgive you everything: The agony, sorrow too,

The only thing I care about is the pain that I caused you.

Stinging flies, come closer, taste my blood

I’ll figure for myself how to sink into the mud

  Don’t be a Judge

  Zeev Kachel, 1988

Don't be a judge before you've been roughed up

  Don't be soft!

  I despise politeness

From this battle, I’m not going to escape.

Survived so far. Will not give an inch. I cuss

  Until a change takes shape

Let a whip rule between us.
