Night Bells by L.M. Sherwin

Fanndis hummed quietly by the fire while Arna stirred the cauldron that hung over it. Their dinner smelled delicious. Herbs, salted pork, and cabbage mingled together in the broth, swirling as she rotated the wooden spoon. Stigg could smell it from the back room where he worked on making netting for a bed he was building for Arna. All was quiet in the cottage, save for the gentle tune the older woman hummed. When the soup was finally finished, the three of them sat down to a nice warm meal.
